Thing # 16

I chose to use the Yahoo tool as my homepage, and will continue to use it. I use Yahoo all the time in order to be well informed about  my personal interests, such as news, finances, entertainment, email, etc. This keeps me organized on my computer. As a teacher, I will use this website more often because it is important to get organized.

I made a list on Basecamp and it is easy to use.

Thing #15

I was working on the wiki part and realized just how much technology has changed when comes to finding information and seeing people’s opinion. I believe that teachers are using wiki with the purpose of teaching and learning other languages. These are great tools because people can add or delete new and old knowledge or information. I would like to use this site  for the purpose of finding answers, sharing my opinions about different languages and learning more about our world.

Thing # 14

Click on the Mind Map  (Screen)

Click on the FlowChart  (Screen)

Teaching other languages requires different strategies, and there are a variety of sources on the internet. For example, mind maps and flowcharts are sources that students will be able to use in the process of memorizing different activities. These two websites will be very good tools, because they can improve students’ knowledge by visualizing.

Traduccion por Google

The first thing that caught my attention is that this software is free for any internet user. I was working on my history paper in February 20, 2011, in Google Document. I have never used Google to create a document before. After I created my document, I started developing knowledge about Google documents as well. I started to notice the similarities to Microsoft Works. The creation of this document helps me to develop knowledge about Google Document tools. Google Document will be helpful for my students in the process of learning by discovering different patterns among languages..

Click on the Computer to see Spanish translation "my Blog"

Google Translation is a very good tool in the process of understanding other languages. For example, I can translate a website from Spanish to English, or vice versa. I understand that this tool does not translate with 100% accuracy. There are a lot mistakes in many different words, idiomatic expressions or lexicons, but I am sure that this tool will helpful for my future students. This will help them learn and understand the meanings of idioms.
Picasa web albums will be helpful for my future students in the process of learning by discovering different patterns among cultures. I will post pictures in Picasa with the purpose of showing architecture and culture.

Thing #11

In my opinion, the easiest way to find a teaching blog in RSS is by using Edublogs’ award winners ,because Edublogs have been constantly updating their blogs. The easiest search for me was Google reader ,because I spent a few hours using it. The most confusing to use were all the other search tools, because I am only familiar with Google reader. The most useful feed that I found was the Best teacher winner: Edublogs 2010, by teacher Tom ,because his blog motivates me to work hard, with the purpose of being successful in my school. I found other tools that will be helpful in my future career. For example, I found cultural blogs from Hispanic countries.

Thing #10

Technologies in this century have been moving forward with the purpose of encouraging comunication through blogs . In my opinion the best part of this exercise is the communication among blogs, because, thanks to “Really Simple Syndication” (RSS), people can follow personal interests. Teachers never stop learning, and blogs can be a very good tool to share ideas or activities for future classes.

Creating these comics and signs was easy. You only need to follow a few steps and you are done. These kind of pictures will help me in the classroom, because students need to laugh in order to learn Spanish.

WAPX-FM

Using flickr in my classroom, I'm not sure. There is so much detail to that website I feel like maybe parents won't want to take the time.  I think there are other websites that serve with the same purpose and more easily. For example Facebook or twitter. Flickr will be helpful for my students in the process of learning by discovering different patterns among language and culture. I will post pictures in Flickr with the porpuse of show architecture and culture.

Thing #6

I selected YouTube because there are videos that will be able to help me (Spanish / English) in my career with my students. Teach other languages require different strategies. YouTube can give me lot help with students that have problems learning the language. Teachers can help students in a fun way through videos. For example, students can practice grammar, reading, writing and listening.

The article that I observed was guide for educator and future of education. My thoughts regarding this web 2.0 are that this world has been changing with the purpose of developing better teacher, students and people in the process of learn. Technologies in this century have been moving up with the purpose of educate easier and faster. Thanks to the technology, students will be given more opportunities to learn and socialize in all part of the world. Thing # 4

Commenting is important because it allows the reader and the writer to socialize. It also gives the author the opportunity to obtain feedback respecting her/his blog. Blogs can sometimes create good discussions respecting different opinions. By creating a blog, one might also do so with the purpose to receive help or to provide help to other people looking for answers. I believe that teachers in this century receive a lot help through blogs

Thing #3

The major way that teachers communicate with the students is verbally, but there are other occasions where the teachers need to communicate with the students through the use of technology. There will be students that need to be absent for different reasons in class. We need to keep them updated using blogs. For example, I am going to teach Spanish. Some students learn observing, listening, talking or practicing. There are different ways that the students can stay academically strong, and the exam can be part of the grade.  For conversation, I will go to post Spanish videos, assignments and vocabulary. I believe that blogs will be very good tools in my teaching. Using blogs to comunicate with student, parents and collegues can
encourage them to socialize, which promotes student succes.

Thing # 2

The first thing that I did was create my blog. Creating this blog was easy. I only had to type some personal information, and accept the terms and conditions. I am okay posting my name, because showing your name can being more professional.  I have a delicious account, and I believe that has the same purpose: to be social and enjoy the internet. Creating this account was easy because the instructions were in Spanish and English, and these directions were written clearly. Creating my avatar was very fun and enjoyable, because I tried to create my picture to reflect my personality. The avatar looks like me with out my mole, but I still am happy, because I am in the real world, and the avatar is only a computer creation.

The title, 7 ½ Habits of Highly successful Lifelong Learners, caught my attention, and I began to analyze this title.  The first thing that I thought is how human started to learn in the society.  In this life, people learn from the environment and people around them.  The tutorial was very helpful, because it showed me different strategies that  I will be able to use in the process of learning, and becoming more responsible in the way I learn. The end of the tutorial encourages the reader to learn and make a plan. I know I should be grateful for new challenges that will come with the next step.
